WHITE CUBICLE Toilet Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition by
BASSO MAGAZIN BERLIN

Sunday January 14, 2006, 6:00-10:30 PM
Music by Seb Patane and Princess Julia

basso magazin’s show at White Cubicle takes the form of a spread of a issue of the magazine done specially for George and Dragon:
a collection of authentic photos of basso friends after accidents, operations etc, a little family album of AFTER DISASTER situations.
There will also be the possibility to see and buy basso magazine and the matching tshirts.

basso magazin is a crossover zine between sex and art, put together from contributions from the members of basso family to a given subject. basso magazin doesn’t have consumer friendly periodical standards such as page numbers or editorial introductions, it can be seen as a montage of ideas in text and image, put together to an intuitive flow. Its contributors vary from basso neighbours to celebrated artists.

basso magazin is edited by Yusuf Etiman. Yusuf was born in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1969 and lives and works in Berlin since 1989. A graphic designer and photographer, he also runs runs basso, the private multiface space (and his design studio) where he curates a film programme, organizes exhibitions, readings, concerts, magazine presentations and other cultural events with a changing team of contributors, helpers, friends and of course the fabulous, famous and ubiquitious basso boys. The space is also used as a studio or practice room by people who temporarily need it for their projects. basso also can be home to music events, birthday parties or just a nice dinner.

basso magazin is available in London at Conor Donlon Books, 2 Herald Street and nog gallery, 182 Brick Lane.
